ISO 9001 Certification
Wood’s Powr-Grip has been an ISO 9001 certified company since 1998. ISO is the International Organization for Standardization, a nongovernmental group that promotes world-wide industry agreements on effective quality management and publishes them as international standards. The ISO 9001 Standard applies to organizations that design, manufacture and distribute their own products. In order to earn and maintain certification, companies must document and consistently follow quality assurance procedures for all tasks relating to customer service and the manufacturing process. Compliance with the standard is completely voluntary and is verified by independent auditors.

Maintaining ISO 9001 certification reflects Powr-Grip’s commitment to our customers for continuous improvements in the quality of our products and service. Since certification is not permanent, Wood’s Powr-Grip undergoes a “surveillance audit” every year, which is conducted by an independent company, in order to maintain our certification. In addition, Wood’s Powr-Grip undergoes a more extensive “recertification audit” once every three years, in order to renew our certification.

ASME and ANSI
The American Society for Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a 120,000-member professional organization focused on technical, educational and research issues of the engineering and technology community. This organization sets internationally recognized manufacturing standards that enhance public safety. Wood’s Powr-Grip makes every effort to follow the engineering standards established by the ASME and published by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). While conformity to such standards is voluntary, Wood’s Powr-Grip follows these design standards because of our commitment to continuous improvements in the quality and safety of our vacuum cups and other products. CE Certification
Wood’s Powr-Grip’s commitment to our international customers requires us to comply with CE standards, as well as the standards previously noted. CE certification is mandatory for Wood’s Powr-Grip products sold or imported into the European Union (EU). Use of the CE mark requires Wood’s Powr-Grip to ensure that our products comply with the mandatory health and safety regulations stipulated in EU directives.

Individual Product Testing
At Wood’s Powr-Grip, we individually test every vacuum cup, vacuum lifter and other product before it ships from our manufacturing facility, to make sure it functions properly and satisfies all quality and safety standards. This is not something we have to do—many companies test only a random sample of products—but, we prefer to test each product before shipping it, in order to ensure that the user receives a Wood’s Powr-Grip product that is working perfectly.
