The Stone Dolly

Wood’s Powr-Grip®  is pleased to announce the addition of a new product in its line-up of materials handling products.

The Stone Dolly is a sturdy, human-powered device used for the transportation of stone slabs. It can readily be used in the shop to move heavy stone slabs from station to station, facilitating the production process. Additionally, the Stone Dolly can be used to load stone slabs up to 700 lbs. [320 kg] up and down stairs and to load them onto trucks for delivery to the installation site.

Once the truck arrives at its destination, the Stone Dolly can be utilized to move the stone slab easily to the point of installation. Featuring non-marking, gray pneumatic wheels, the Stone Dolly can be maneuvered without scuffing or leaving marks on expensive flooring materials. The pivoting front wheel allows dexterous turning in tight areas. A pivoting end plate on the load channel acts as a stop and facilitates vertical positioning of the stone for entering elevators or narrow areas. An attachable caster can be positioned on the stone, to provide additional support in the vertical orientation and maneuverability in tight quarters. The padded channel on the Stone Dolly can accommodate a stone slab up to 700 lbs. [320 kg] and 2 in. [5 cm] in thickness. Once the load is placed on the dolly, the weight engages a spring-activated set of clamping rollers that gently hold the stone in place. The dolly also comes equipped with a set of eye hooks where a supplied cargo strap can be attached to the frame for additional load stability and security.

The Stone Dolly is equipped with a revolving, rubber-belted pressure skid on each side of the frame to prevent damage to flooring materials while moving materials up and down stairs. Adjustable control handles with rubber hand-grips enable operators to ergonomically configure the dolly for pulling with the least amount of effort.
