Tilters for Stone Handling by Wood's Powr-Grip®
When equipment requirements call for tilting slabs 90° between upright and flat positions, a tilter or "upender" is employed. Powr-Grip tilters increase speed and efficiency when transferring stone between storage racks and cutting tables or horizontally oriented processing machines, while providing sufficient support and rigidity to avoid breakage during the tilt. Factors such as slab size, thickness and stress placed on the stone due to jarring or bumping are considered in the design of these vacuum lifters. |

MTA Series • Quadra-Tilt Vacuum Lifters
These vacuum lifters feature an innovative, four-bar tilt mechanism that radically reduces the effort needed for tilting slabs 90° between upright and flat positions. They are available with a fixed pad frame or an adjustable pad frame, which can accommodate a variety of stone sizes and shapes. In addition, holes or defects in the stone can easily be avoided because the vacuum pads can attach in any number of locations on the slab. Available with AC, DC or compressed air power system.

MT Series • Stone Lifters
Specifically designed for handling stone, Powr-Grip's MT Series Stone Lifters feature 90° tilt with an above-the-center pivot point, so that slabs automatically hang in the upright position when lifted. Coupled with a remote power source, the resulting narrow profile allows these vacuum lifters to fit between tight, vertical storage racks while also protecting the power source from damage. Available power systems include AC, DC or compressed air. Standard features include Foam Pad Rings, for sealing a vacuum lifter onto rough stone, and Individual Pad Shutoffs, for handling irregularly shaped slabs or counter tops with sink cut-outs. These vacuum lifters are also available with a Flat Lift Adapter, which enables them to load and unload cutting tables, CNC machines or other horizontal processing machinery (see option CF4FLAO).
